All about the upcoming 2022 Mazda CX-5
The upcoming 2022 Mazda CX-5 is even more attractive and forward-thinking. Spinelli Mazda in Lachine, near Montreal West, in the Greater Montreal area, reveals its all-new SUV, the 2022 Mazda CX-5.
What we know about its fuel consumption and power
The Mazda CX-5 has been a Canadian favourite since 2013. With its high-performance engines, fantastic handling and smooth driving, it's remained at the top of the charts year after year.
Under the hood, two engines are offered: the GX, GS, Kuro and GT versions are equipped with a 2.5 L 4-cylinder engine with 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. As for the GT Turbo and Signature versions, they are powered by a 2.5 L 4-cylinder turbo engine with 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. These two versions can do 0-100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds! It just flies down the road!
Finally, the Mazda CX-5's fuel consumption is well within the average of other SUVs in its category and gets great results on the highway, with ratings of 9.3 L/100 km in the city and 7.6 L on the highway. On a single tank of gas, you'll go far... very far!
Interior and exterior dimensions of the 2022 CX-5
The exterior dimensions of the Mazda CX-5 are very impressive: 4,550 mm long, 2,115 mm wide and 1,680 mm high. This 5-door, 5-passenger SUV comfortably accommodates your family and friends.
Inside the vehicle, both front and rear passengers enjoy good rear legroom (1041 mm front and 1007 mm rear), excellent headroom (1009 mm front and 991 mm rear) and great shoulder room (1451 mm front and 1392 mm rear).
In short, both the interior and exterior of the Mazda CX-5 boast great dimensions. It is spacious and will suit everyone's needs.
Towing capacity of the Mazda CX-5
There is no denying it, we love SUVs because of their excellent road holding and rolling comfort. But the main reason is to be able to accommodate a growing family. The Mazda CX-5 delivers on all these fronts, and also offers a great towing capacity.
This SUV can tow up to 2,000 pounds (907 kg) with ease, so you'll be able to haul heavy equipment for camping and riverside adventures.
What's new in 2022 vs 2021
In September 2021, Mazda Canada shared with us every addition and innovation of the 2022 CX-5 SUV, and we can safely say that the new SUV is very different from the 2021 Mazda CX-5.
The most dramatic of the changes is its new exterior styling, with new sleek lines, new rectangular headlights and LED lights, as well as reflective body surfaces and new aluminum wheels.
But that's not all. The 2022 GT version is significantly sportier than the 2021 version, and the black Mazda CX-5 adds sharp accents along the exterior and throughout the cabin.
Finally, the Mazda CX-5's driving modes, seats and suspension have received big updates, and our beloved SUV is looking better than ever in its newest edition. What’s more, it’s also more powerful than ever before.
The engineers at Mazda clearly wanted to make a big splash, and they succeeded. Their new compact SUV is more modern, attractive and powerful than ever.
